I have a younger brother who is 13 years old and high functioning autistic. My mother has tried many things such as neorobiofeedback therapy and several social groups. We feel as though he is getting worse! Right now he is extremely anxious and anti-social. He is also taking chlorella each day to rid mercury.

We were interested in the marijuana, but are unsure of the dosage and strain. She outlines a very valid approach to treatment that can help you pinpoint the biggest issues for your brother. I know this post is old, so I wonder if I will get a response. I am about to try medical marijuana for my 14 you son with severe anxiety which becomes anger outburst.

Does anyone have an idea of what strains and delivery method is best for this? Me and My wife need your Help. We just learned that our almost 3 year old son has ABD….. We are thinking to try CBD as well, but still researching this option, not sure what CBD oil we can try with our child. I read stories here where moms tell stories about a kid cured using CBD oil and this gives us a huge breath of hope and belief, please share your experience in numbers and names, in locations and dosage, not just stories but useful information, please that would really help.

Please help us with an advise or with whatever you can in our fight agains Autism. Thank you in advance. I like the CBD from cannabis rather than hemp, provides more terpenes and benefits than industrial hemp. Dosage varies — depends on weight, tolerance. Experimentation is really the only way to find out.

I get mine from amastoned. Have tried 6 different seizure Medes without good and even horrifying side effects. Had craniotomy last year and struggle with seizures. Severe depression and panic attacks. What type of marijuans strands is recommended. Jennifer, I recommend watching our cannabis webinar. The medical cannabis strains for epilepsy are suggested by medical cannabis doctors. However, there are different names for each drug. While I wish I could, the sad fact is that this is a big game.

All I want is my child to be seizure free. And not be suffering. Can you recommend any additional strains? Here in Colorado the variety is immense and confusing because the sales people are mostly just rumor mongers. However, something you wrote really bothered me as a mental health professional and relative of individuals who have ASD. It is a functional and structural difference in the brain. Symptoms can be managed and treated, but not recovered from.

He will always have some struggles, and you must recognize that as his mother. You can only teach him and help him function, and help the symptoms. Individuals with ASD are unique and can bring new about changes. Just look at some of the great minds many believe had ASD like Einstein.

Jess, there is NO evidence that autism is a fully genetic disorder. You have been listening to the wrong people. Study after study has shown that genetics can only possibly account for about half of autism. This is just one of the many studies http: There have been case after case of children who have recovered completely. Raun Kaufman was diagnosed as profoundly autistic before he was two years old. In his case, it worked. Completely and utterly, and you would know that if you saw him give one of his dynamic lectures that he gives all over the country in his role as the Director of Global Education at the Autism Treatment Center of America.

Frankly, I find that ridiculous. I hear others have managed it, and I aspire to what they have achieved because I would rather NOT have asthma than have asthma. But because some people feel that way does not mean that they should get to define life for others with the condition.

You might want to read this piece which covers many of the medical aspects of autism very well: The fact that those conditions are part of the picture for a large segment of the autistic population means that autism is not a separate genetic mental condition from the rest of the symptoms that are clearly the result of overall toxic burden.

If you reduce the toxic burden, you can reduce autism symptoms and behaviors. You are basing your conclusion on a lousy premise: My son Nic is severely autistic non verbal. And we recently found out he several other health problems. Including Still active stage 3 liver disease with bridging fibrosis. He was on one from the time he was 3 till now 9. We live in Pa although it is legal here. How can I get around this.

Poor Nic is loosing his mind! I really need more info on the exact type, breed, generation of the plants that help autistic people get rid of the severe anxiety they suffer from. And he also has severe muscle spasms. And he needs to eat more. We were in the hospital all July. By the time I can go to a dispensary here it will be to late!

How can I get this NOW! Hi LeighAnn, the situation is enormously complicated, and the lowdown I hear is that no one in Pennsylvania is likely to be too much help, though I will email you the phone number of someone who might be able to give you some info.

Sorry, gotta jump in here. I have two children diagnosed with severe autism. My child is cured and while I love my children with or without autism I wish for them to function at their highest potential. Most autism families I know want the same thing. Autism is not the cool, nerdy, trend that some people think should be celebrated.

Not when you are scraping poo out of the crevices of your wood floor, dealing with bruises and blood from head banging, watching your child writhe in pain from intense chronic GI upset. I know plenty of autism families who have been doing just that for years and now are worried about how to transition their child to a group home when they are too old to care for them. When the diversity movement shows me one person who is non verbal and in diapers that communicated the desire to keep themselves just exactly as is for perpetuity then I will take your agenda more seriously.

Remember, my daughter was severely autistic, recovered, had her diagnosis removed and is now cured. She vividly remembers and describes what autism was like and she states very emphatically that she is grateful to be cured of autism. And by the way, there is no such thing as a genetic epidemic. And nope, not one single family member with any type of cognitive dysfunction in any side of the family.

I have to kids 16,12 that both have been on seizure meds and very autistic both are very moderate cognitive border severe. Im not getting any younger and takin care of them seems to bet getting harder. Please let me know if you got any answers to your question of how to start the treatment. Need help in getting start our journey with cannabis.

Buy some from someone you trust or grow your own plants.. Unless of course you live where it is legal or can move to where it is. If you need some help in the process of growing then email me. This is for anyone on here wanting help. Israel is making great progress on medical cannabis used to treat autism.

What strands help severe autism, anxiety, muscle pain and will give the munchies to my son. He has liver disease and terrible food issues! CBD is a potent anti-inflammatory. Thank you so much for this information! My son is 13 and has had increasing symptoms including coprolalia and it is really starting to impact him at school.

We have tried meds, acupuncture and CBIT…definitely willing to give this a try! Many thanks for sharing your journey! Yes, it can be tough trying to find what works for your child, as each case is different. We were all set to try acupuncture before we tried CBD also.

Please let me know how it works for you! I commented a few months back. I even bought the BlueBird classic off your recommendation. Been giving my son 30 drops a day. Actually hemp contains CBD, so they are not one in the same. Hemp and cannabis both contain CBD, cannabis just has a higher content. Which is why I chose hemp for my son. So to answer your question, yes hemp is one of many types of CBD oils. I just ordered CBD in the form of gummy bears.

I am not clear on dosage though. The bears are mg. The woman on my board cut hers and gave her daughter a total of 30 mg. My daughter is older and pounds. Thank you for any advice. First off, thank your for reading and sharing. All the best to your daughter and family. So a 10ml bottle with 2. Hemp is not as potent as a direct cannabis strain, so we figured we could fluctuate the dosage more if needed.

Reading this was like you were telling our story for us. My son turned three in December and after almost a year and a half of telling our pediatrician something was going on, we finally got in to see a neurologist.

Only for her to tell us that he has transcient tics, which I had diagnosed him with myself, because everyone else thought I was crazy and that nothing was wrong with him!

Is your son fully vaccinated? Did he or Does he also incorporate loud words from time to time? Do certain situations trigger him? Thank you for reading and sharing! Yes, my son is fully vaccinated. Yes, there are times when we have to remind him of his volume level in general and just certain random words he screams. I hope your son continues to improve and your family finds peace in this situation. Hello, I found these posts while researching CBD oil for my adult son. His tics are complex and involve whole conversations, so it truly sounds as though he is responding to voices.

His doctors say now that he is not schizophrenic, however. He has tried multiple combinations of about 30 medications. He still has no definitive diagnosis after 12 years.

He was a heavy marijuana user when he was younger, so we have always thought he has neurotransmitter damage from drug use. He also abused other drugs. Because of that, we have never considered marijuana in any form as something we would want to try. However, I am reading a lot about how CBD oil can help with those who abused marijuana in the past. We started with a low concentration for the last few weeks because it was cheaper.

Then, after reading about it, we ordered the mg. He is going to vape it once or twice a day. I would consider it a miracle if this gives him his quality of life back after 12 years of trying various meds and having his life on hold due to his illness. Thanks for sharing your story. I will keep you posted, as there might be others who are dealing with this as disabled adults. I sure hope your son and your family find some relief and comfort with CBD.

Please keep me posted! My son has tics as well but not too dramatic. How long we should wait before trying with higher dosage? Thank you in advance! My son showed noticeable positive results after about 7 days. They continued to improved for about 60 days before they started coming back mildly. We increased his dosage to 30mg from 15mg per day. Thank you very much for reply! Today is seventh day since we started with CBD drops and we can see noticeable improvement as well from 6th day.

Frequency of vocal and shaking tics deceased. Also, on 6th day we included magnesium as many people suggest. So, for you to find something that is showing results is great! I read 2 studies cited on echoconnection. Hi, Thank you for your post. I live in the UK and my daughter is 7 with severe tourettes syndrome. The head jerk is affecting her quality of life and school work.

She has been give topiramate but there is a lot of side effects. I am unsure whether to give her the meds I have been prescribed or CBD oil. My gut says CBD oil. Hi Natalie, Thank you for your reply, I am reading up on topiramate and all I am reading is about negative side effects.

I have been looking at which CBD oil to get, my partner is telling me to get the capasules, as the oil tastes bad. My daughter is off for Easter so like you this would be a good time to start her topiramate too. She does not seem to wax and wane much and just has the tics nearly everyday and OCD quite bad.

She often gets taken out the classroom. The school say they have never had someone in their school with tourettes syndrome. Thank you for your reply, it means a lot. If you start the meds I would love to know how your daughter is getting on, I will let you know what I decide to do, it is nice to speak to someone in the same boat xxx.

Hi Faye, yep sounds the same my daughters is constant every day it is really hard hun. Hope the best for you all xxx. Our CBD comes from Germany and has some very good reviews, as well as a series of proper manufacturing reports.

We started around mid-October and in the first 3 weeks or so the effect was amazing. Not only the tics, but also his impulsiveness, occasional aggressiveness and anxiety all but disappeared. By then he was temporarily not in school, awaiting a free place which finally was provided in January.

The new context, the need to adapt again to a new environment, teachers, methods, had an effect on him: The anxiety reached again higher levels. For some time we tried to increase the dosage of CBD but after going slightly above the recommended amounts and seeing no big change, we decided with his doctor in mid-March to start giving Clonidine, a medication which is supposed to reduce tics substantially but whose side effects are not as serious as other medicines basically temporary fatigue and lower blood pressure.

Occasionally he takes an anti-anxiety pill, but not all the time. Not giving any conclusions here, just wanting to offer my testimony to others and welcome any comments! Thank you so much for your post. Sadly my brother died last year from brain cancer, but Cbd oil helped him so much with the seizure symptoms. Ive sent her so many links to great articles, data and the rest of it so im quite baffled but i wont rest until that kid is better and has put on weight.

He is alarmingly thin. Your comment about being very thin caught my attention. Although my son does have tics and OCD, he does not have any weight loss. I am part of a group where I hear of this often though.

So I wanted to share with you some info in case you were unaware. It is typically treated with antibiotics and IVIG and other treatments. His symptoms are next to none at this point. Tics have an huge negative impact on my sons quality of life. So I thought I would share this info in hopes it might be helpful. Can you tell me what tests you used to diagnose this.

My son was clinically diagnosed based on history of spikes in his symptoms that seem to relate to illness. I did a detailed log of his whole life to find relationships between illness and symptom severity. We went to types of doctors immunologist, pediatrician, neurologist, PANDAS specialist, and other doctors who all gave the same diagnosis. We tested him for many infections and he has strep, mycoplasma, tick-borne illnesses like Babesia and bartonella and possible candida.

He either got tic disorder or Tourette diagnosis in the past. Currently he is almost symptom free. He has occasional tics, some compulsions and other things. We think keeping him illness free has been a key factor.

As you can imagine, this is very hard to do with a 9 yr old who is super energetic and social. Hey Ram, you guys have done amazingly! Just interested as my sister has only tested her child with one blood test for strep a long time ago, but so many of the symptoms match the ones on the Pandas… You have to wonder how kids can get all these diseases, its pretty full on whats happening to so many of them.

KT — We did a number of blood tests and many of them were repeats. Part of the reason is because different doctors do different tests and the other reason is parents becoming knowledgeable enough to ask for certain tests. We have learned a lot along the way. Some folks have done the Cunningham panel which detects auto antibodies. Others have done lumbar puncture and MRIs to detect inflammation.

I would suggest that you look at the weblink I sent earlier for current testing recommendations. Her email is prescottf69 hotmail.

She needs to hear from parents using CBD!!!! I am 67 and recently read this story,so decided to try it. They refuse to call it Tourettes, as I have no verbal outbursts. It consists of constant shoulder shrugging, head and neck flexing and teeth grinding.

I started with a 15mg capsule, up to 30 mg a day and now at 50 mg a day. So far, about days no effect other than I sleep somewhat better. Can you tell me how long you suppose it may take before I would hope to see results?

Also, is fatigue a side effect? BTW, I did learn that a person should check for drug interactions, especially if you are older. It conflicts with certain statin drugs cholesterol as well as Omeprozole prilosec.

Have a great day. We noticed results in my son in about days. Thanks for the info. Have you heard anything regarding certain medications affecting the CBD oil effectiveness at all? No, I was just told that CBD had the enzyme cytochrome P which interfered with certain statin drugs among others.

I am going to give this at least 90 days and see if what happens. Have a good day. Hi Great article, thank you so much for sharing! My daughter has had Tourettes for years, she was diagnosed at 8, she is now Her tics seem to have gotten worse and she has never wanted to try those horrible drugs for them, then we read about CBD oil.

I have started her on it, but no improvement only giving 20 MG a day yet but I think I may not be dosing enough? Maybe you could help. Thank you for reading. Yes, our dose equals 30MG. We had to tinker with it until we found a dosage that works. Thank you so much for sharing your success with the CBD oil. I have been contemplating this for my son as he suffers from tics and has now for about 8 months.

It started as the eye roll and head pull down and now he has a goal throat clearing that is constant. He is always constant but it bothered by the constant torture of the tics. How did you know what dosage to use and where to get the oil. I have friends that work I distillaries and they have made recommendation but still want to have more options.

Thank you for any help you can provide and thank yo uh again for sharing. Thank you for reading and sharing your story. I researched over 10 CBD companies before deciding on one. We used half the recommend dosage and increased as needed.

Thank you for sharing your story and your experience with CBD oil to address your sons tics. My daughter was diagnosed with TS about a year ago, struggles with some motor and verbal tics as well as anxiety and some OCD.

We are focused on finding natural remedies to help address these symptoms. Have you made any other adjustments to his dosage since your last reference to this above?

Would you recommend this as well? Thank you for reading this and reaching out! We are still using 15 drops each in morning and at night. We also give him 4 drops of Copaiba oil before bed. His progress and maintenance have been pretty steady. But, with the CBD it calms down within a day or two. My son is 11yrs and has had tics since 6yrs. He is mild most days as we have done extensive diet changes and supplements.

We decided to try DoTerras new copaiba pills that are just released. I started him on the oil 3 days ago.. Have you tried copaiba at all? Thank you for reaching out. Yes, we use the doTerra Copaiba. When we tried Copaiba alone, it was not as effective in results.

My daughter is 8 years old and started having a very bad eye roll tic a few months ago. Started using cbd but having a hard time figuring out dosage. Been trying 5 drops twice a day with little improvement. My 5 year old son was diagnosed with transient tics several months ago. After seeing the results that my sister had treating her son who had seizures, i decided to research CBD Oil for tics and came across your story.

I highly recommend this and pray that everyone has the best results. I am dealing with the same with our son. How is your son doing? Where do you apply the frankincense on the body to be the most efficient? We are planning on trying cbd oil as well. Going through a rough time and reading your story has given me a little hope. My son is doing great. We apply the Frankincense around his hairline and down his spine…3 drops each. Combined with CBD has been amazing.

Hi, Please someone help. My son had a small eye roll at age 3, that very rarely came back. It came out of no where all at once! He was doing better but not tic free so we added the neuro med recommendation of Clonidine. Is it something worse? Could the sudden onset be more indicative of a tumor? The vocal tic is over 60x a minute. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Twitter account. You are commenting using your Facebook account.
