Hi there, after an initial consultation at the private London clinic I received some documentation regarding my three treatment options: I'm sure I will be given pertinent details about these options at a follow up appointment I'm currently undergoing counselling with another specialist , but I guess I want to be fully informed ahead of time. The summary in that document includes: Now having ruled the gel out, all I know about nebido vs.
Sustanon is the latter intramuscular might be more likely to cause side effects. Also it being IM I assume it would be administered through a different needle? Thanks for your reply!
I'm planning and I think so are my doctors to pass the treatment onto the nhs as essentially it's just the initial gender appointment that has a ridiculous waiting list, so hopefully won't have to keep forking out these huge sums of money for treatment.
After the initial ramp-up period, Nebido is given every weeks or so. I'm not sure about needle size but it is given as an intramuscular injection I think. I personally just go to the nurse because it's only 4 times a year, so whatever. It's a slow-release form to T, designed to give you more even levels, although there is a peak and a dip just like with any other form of T. And Nebido is definitely a bigger and thicker needle than Sustanon.
The oil is thick af and it takes a long time to inject it. It is also intramuscular. Oh, and the 6 week note in your pamphlet refers to the loading phase.
So to start you off, in order to get to regular T levels quicker, you get a second injection quicker. So the schedule would be like this:. Nebido and Sustanon are both intramuscular injections typically anyway, I did Sustanon sub-q for a while with an endo's approval but I think it's uncommon. Nebido goes in the butt. Sustanon can too but can also be injected into the thigh which may be a shorter needle, depending how much fat is on the thighs Nebido is thicker so a wider needle might be used for it.
Warming the ampoule beforehand can help it go in easier. Awesome, thank you all for clarifying these points. So nebido is actually also IM and has a thicker needle as it's more viscous, but administered much less frequently and can be self injected if desired. I've seen some people post that their levels were too low with Nebido. A one size fits all dosing schedule works for many probably most people, but it's not going to work for everybody.
And with Nebido you can kind of take your shots closer together, but if every 12 weeks or even every 10 weeks doesn't get your levels high enough, it depends on how flexible your doctor is with doing injections even closer together.
Because you can't increase the dose, otherwise. I've heard from other guys that Nebido doses too low, and the trough levels in the last few weeks are pretty rough. The two guys I knew who were on it supplemented with off-label T.
